Pumpkins To A Point-Color Palette Challenge Day 13

Description

It was challenging to create a study based on the style of pointillism that Georges Seurat and, Paul Signac developed in 1886. The technique is based on the ability of the eye and mind of the viewer to blend small dots of color, to form an image. The movement known also as “New-Impressionism” used a limited palette of colors that would mix optically to correspond to a particular color. So, I used the Day 13 Color Palette Challenge from here: magicalzombie.deviantart.com/a…

This piece is inspired by this photo oneofacard.deviantart.com/art/… a beautiful composition of pumpkins with stunning colors. I changed the composition (I usually do) but, you can see still the major elements and, beautiful colors. I certainly wanted something green so that I could create the green color with my limited color palette that doesn’t have green.

I used the program Artrage and, the marker tool with the Real Color Blending on, a wonderful feature that allows you to blend color more like the natural media. For the canvas texture, I used the Juz Marker Paper from the Traditional Media Surfaces pack for Artrage from here: forums.artrage.com/showthread.…

I work as if I would have with the real marker tool, dot after dot, two size marker tips and, no digital convenience, except the undo and, eraser.

It took forever to finish it but, I remember enjoying doing this type of artwork as a child. I want to try again this kind of studies with the colourful pointillism style and, the monochrome stippling style in the future.
